Street Sessions runs two levels of Street & Hip Hop Dance Courses – one for beginners (those of us who have never danced, but always wanted to!) and a faster paced course for those of you who have danced before.
During our courses you’ll be introduced to all the basics of street & commerical dancing (think Beyonce’s Single Ladies!) as well as be learn the basics of other styles such as hip hop, waving and popping ! You’ll learn floor techniques, be introduced to choreography and by the end of the six weeks you’ll learn a short routine to a current, well known song (and if you’ve got a particular tune in mind that you’d really like to move to, just send us an email and we’ll try and incorporate it into the course!).
Our classes are fun, funky and set in a non-competitive atmosphere. They’re a perfect way to burn some calories and meet new people!
Tuesdays 8.15pm-9.15pm at Royal Academy of Dance, Battersea

WHAT IS STREET DANCING?
Street dance is the style of dance that most people associate with music videos – but street dancing actually evolved outside of dance studios in everyday spaces such as streets, school yards and nightclubs.
Before So You Think You Can Dance brought street dancing to our screens, artists such as Rihanna, Beyonce, Usher were all using street dancing to enhance their music performances. Why? Because it is a funky, urban and uber cool style of dance that works well with hip hop, urban and r’n’b music.
Street dancing is a great way to stay fit and have fun as it is energetic and set to amazing tunes. It’s also a great way to meet people as it is loved by both guys and girls…
